MEET THE AUTHOR by Sandy DunesvilleI met with Patrina McKenna, author of the GIANT Gemstones series, the other week and have just got around to typing up my notes: Grandmother; lives in the English countryside; family connection to Ireland; loves the Irish way of life and its people; adores everything Italian. Boring!Anyway, check out Book 2 in the series – A Galaxy of Gemstones. I star in it! I’m trying to remember why the UK’s Press went to Tadgers Blaney Manor in the first place. That’s it! Some demolition workers thought they’d seen a ghost. Turned out it was only a red glove flying around everywhere. It grabbed hold of my pink voile scarf just before we went live to the nation. I didn’t flinch. No harm done; it was only being mischievous.I wouldn’t mind featuring in another of Patrina’s books - let’s see if there’s anything interesting to say about her. (Knew I should have read through these notes earlier.) There’s something here about ‘businesswoman experiences irrevocable destiny swap’. I think she mentioned about stopping her car for a stag to cross the road and imagined it flying through the sky with a red air-filled bag attached to its antlers. I can’t write that - far too bizarre!I suppose I could just end by thanking Patrina for making me famous. I’m now inside books on coffee tables worldwide!STOP PRESS: Patrina's now writing romantic comedy books. I've just read the Truelove Hills series - amazing twists and turns! Pure escapism - felt like I'd been on holiday there myself.
