Detective literature in Urdu has been very popular since the beginning. Ibn-e-Safi's novels, full of detective stories, humour, adventure and romance, have created a sensation in the Urdu world.

The seven volumes of "Tilism-e-Hoshruba" if turned into novels, will repeat the early story of detective literature in Urdu. Famous Urdu magazine "Shama" has started a spy monthly "Mujrim" based on the main character of Colonel Zahid, also gained great popularity among the Urdu fans of entertainment literature.
