The quest for purpose brought the artist to Bigfoot country where she is now immersed in deep forest wilderness, clean air and quiet where the mind is free to experience uninterrupted creativity. Bigfoot is everywhere and nowhere around these parts, always scary, always ferocious. The idea of the Bigfoot as a misunderstood being evolved through an Artist of the Month project for Crescent City Art's. Granted, Bigfoot is not the noblist of pursuits or purpose however, as I delved into my October project, "Witches & Kittens," theme, the kittens took over and things went to chaos. The point of my witch and cat illustrations was to portray a Beauty and Beast type of juxtaposition tween woman and beast. I wanted to invite the viewer to experience life with a beast (witch) from a cat's eye perspective (beauty). Bigfoot just sort of worked his way into the art and psyche, as a fun-loving guardian of a secret family that he ferociously keeps safe from pryng human eyes.As a skeptic of paranormal, I admit I know better, but fond memories of youthful family camping with parents and family in happier days simply burst into flurries of sketches of mischief and mayhem.
