JORGE ENRIQUE ARIZA BUTRÓN was born on January 28, 1957 in the city of Barranquilla, Colombia.At the age of 15, he traveled to the United States where he finished his High School.In 1974, he entered the Miami-Dade Community College where he studied Journalism, Psychology and Social Sciences.The Prism magazine, from the North Campus of Miami Florida publishes, for the first time in its history, poems in Spanish of its authorship.He collaborated since the age of 18 in the Diario La Libertad, in Barranquilla, as a columnist and writer of short stories, entertainment and poetry for several years.In 1995, he founded the local newspaper El Subeño in Bogotá, for whose meritorious work he appeared on the television program Magazín Caracol.He has been a translator and proofreader for various publishers, Bibles and manuscripts.
