Hunted by the Ozars and Daunkirks, Grimmis, a Mauler Silverback, leads a small number of Maulers into the Ice Kraggs to escape. There, they survive for years, hoping to one day return to the Green Wall to reclaim their territory and save other Silverback tribes from servitude.

In his old age, moments before passing away, Grimmis one more time claims there will come an Alpha-Taur among them who will lead them back to the Green Wall, hoping it would be his son Haxzus, and not even dreaming that the runt of the Ravis pack, Terrabyss, could one day become a formidable competitor. Years later, two rogue Eclupse Silverbacks, Dio, and his daughter Luna, make their way into the Ice Kraggs to convince the Maulers to join them in retaking the Green Wall.
