The success of that book spurred him on to write about other aspects of his life in an honest 'no holds barred' kind of approach in 'The Gifted Amateur'. His critical reflections on his experiences influence his judgment, and he is the first to admit that he is the sum of his own decisions. In his writing, he encourages readers to reflect on their own life and experiences, not as a comparison, more of an endorsement that we are all a sum of our own thoughts and actions.
