Author Name
Nate Crew (Author)
Nate Crew’s day job is tending a small family horticulture farm in Wagram, NC. In a former and less poetic life he was a Special Forces soldier at Fort Bragg. He began writing poetry in 2021. The large majority of his poems are English, but he also dabbles in amateur Welsh verse (Grampa’s native tongue and still a faintly lingering Crew family language). To date, he has self-published three poetry collections. He’d personally describe his verses as a swirling mix of crude meter, experimental rhythms, free or blank verse, and the odd echo of old traditional forms. Much of the inspiration so far has come through such diverse channels as painful loss, psychedelic healing, sexual energy, centuries-old Welsh poetic culture, and contact with the deep, rich soil of the Wagram orchards.Read more about this authorRead less about this author

Rivers of Living Water is a chapbook of Nate Crew’s most recent verses, both unrhymed and rhymed as well as those somewhere in between the two. Composed in the earlier months of this year, these pieces follow spiritual reflections, deal with the healing of grief, celebrate the beauty of natural life, and search for pathways of real-life harmony in human relations in this fraught generation.

"I truly enjoy the musicality of these poems, their rhythm as well as the messages,” says prolific North Carolina author Thomas Rain Crowe. “This is a book to help to raise human consciousness and survival going forward.

" This small collection, the author hopes, may serve as a lifeline for some individual readers as well as a source of lines of connection and reconciliation between those alienated from each other and from the living earth. Nate Crew lives in Wagram, NC, near the beautiful black waters of the Lumbee River.

His daytime work is caring for orchards and a “food forest” there along with his wife and two young sons. .
