Author Name
Michel Rivrain (Author)
Born in 1957, Michel Rivrain began writing poetry at the age of 10. It was published at the age of 11 in the Balzac high school newspaper in Tours. Subsequently, four years with the Jesuits shaped his rebellious spirit. His poetic texts will remain confidential for a long time and limited to a small circle of friends by his choice.Alternately a geologist, journalist, radio columnist then visual artist, art therapist and artistic teacher, he returns to writing out of commitment to the largely unknown Berber culture that he has loved and widely supported for years. In 2001, his book "The Berbers and their history" sold tens of thousands of copies. A summarized version has been taught in German colleges since 2003.At the request of his friends and his students at the ASCAT art school which he founded and where he teaches, his poems written in his youth were finally brought together in the collection "Variations on a Razor's Edge" in 2014 Their style, often engaged, is in the vein of Jacques Prévert or Paul Eluard: his favorite poets with Léo Ferré.Written at the request of his former students who wish to see this teaching disseminated, "Easy Sculpture" presents his method of learning stone sculpture developed from 1996 to the present day.A rebellious spirit without interruption since 1975, active in numerous social, humanist and ecological struggles, his latest work: "Let's React" summarizes many contacts and debates in this pamphlet to emerge from the current social and ecological crisis.Michel Rivrain continues to write poetry which will soon be published as well as a book on the individual creative method of learning drawing and painting which he also successfully developed during his years of artistic teaching.Read more about this authorRead less about this author
