Continuing education in Brazil has been searching for its real meaning and stability for centuries, but it is clear that this has not been an easy task. This book aims to clarify relevant aspects of Continuing Education, an educational modality that is so widespread but often misunderstood.

The methodology employed in this regard is based on bibliographical research and literary analyses from scientific journals and books. It is possible to observe during the course of the study that the researchers analysed are capable of presenting points of view in line with what is proposed.

In the course of the study, suggestions were made for rescuing good teaching, even though it depends on such contradictory public policies. A retrospective of Brazilian education was carried out and the permanent struggle of educators to comply with the law was highlighted.

The emergence of a hybrid teaching methodology, i. e.

face-to-face teaching combined with online teaching, only reinforces the need for teachers to always be training to keep up with technological advances. .
