Metodo: si è trattato di uno studio descrittivo trasversale volto a valutare la qualità delle prescrizioni di antibiotici nei bambini di età inferiore ai 5 anni per un periodo di due settimane in ciascun reparto. Il nostro studio si è svolto in 6 unità pediatriche di Bamako (Mali) e ha coinvolto 481 prescrizioni.
Risultati: in questo studio, il 54% dei pazienti era di sesso maschile, con una sex ratio di 1,17. Delle 481 prescrizioni, la maggior parte riportava il nome e il timbro del prescrittore (96,6%).
I medici di base erano i prescrittori nel 28% dei casi. Il ceftriaxone è stato l'antibiotico più comunemente prescritto (37,6%), seguito da amoxicillina (28%) e gentamicina (21,6%).
