For the assessment of analgesic property of the plant extract using acetic acid induced writhing pain model in Wistar albino rats, which were divided into five groups (n=6 per group) with group I serving as control. Group II received paracetamol @ 100 mg/kg and group III, IV and V rats were administered with METO orally @ 200, 300 and 400 mg per kg respectively.

The repeated dose 28-day oral toxicity study of METO was performed in male Wistar albino rats as per the OECD guidelines 407, the dose levels of 250, 500 and 1000 mg/kg, orally gavaged daily for 28 days in group II, III and IV respectively. .
