Author Name
John Hilton (Author)
John Hilton also known on the internet as Clangston also known as Langston and previously known as Angel of Niceness and so on.https://www.facebook.com/JohnDHilton/Wannabe poet, painter, composer, author, novelist, artist and all round (heading towards spherical) annoying person.2020 was a very strange year for all of us. For a variety of reasons, my writing has been intermittent. I have moved home, and now live in Bath. Bristol had been my home for a little over forty three years.Despite this, I published five books over the course of the year. The first of these was Listening foer the Voice, a volume of prayers and explorations of faith and spirituality and the sequel to Trust and Love. Following quickly after came Poems 1994-2015, the definitive edition of the poems I wrote prior to Words on Paper. The in May came Significance, the expanded version of the poem that was first printed in the Narrator as Witness volume. October saw the publication of The Using of Words, the final volume of poems in the Words quartet. Rounding off the year a week later came Words 2016 to 2020, a volume that contained the four volumes of the Words quartet plus the expanded version of Significance.2019 was quieter than the last few years. So far two books have come out. First came Strange People, an omnibus edition of three Kindle books of my poetry that I felt came together well as an alternative selected poems. It came out in January. Then in early September I published Words for the Passing of Time, a collection of new poetry that was much more generously filled than the two volumes that preceded it (Words on Paper and The Silence of the Written Word).I am still working on the third volume of my shorter fiction. I have had difficulties filling the last place in the volume, but I still hope to have it published before the year is out.2018 Was been a good year for my published writings. Less spectacular perhaps that 2017, but I now have all of my work to date published as I want it and next year (should) be all new work.2018 got off to a good start with 'The Act of Feeling: Selected Poems' proceeding from conception to publication smoothly and with no significant mishaps. The updated Tales followed it by a few weeks and is clearly superior in presentation to the earlier edition. It rounded up my prose fiction written prior to mid 2015.It was later joined by Further Tales, a volume that consists of stories I have written since the publication of the first edition of Tales. Further Tales has a very different feel to the earlier volume with more complex stories and narrative approaches. My final book for 2018 was "The Stars and I", a collection of those writings of mine that come under the broad banner of speculative fiction (AKA science fiction). All of these titles are available in Paperback and for the Kindle.I haven't written much poetry recently, so the follow up to Words on Paper is likely to be some way off.2017 was a very exciting year for me, with several important books published and a new feeling of confidence in my work.'That is the Question', my debut novel appeared in May. It is a complex tale with told by a particularly unreliable narrator and is available in both paperback and Kindle editions.'Words on Paper' my new volume of poetry, came out in both paperback and Kindle editions. It is continues the development seen in 2016's Silence of a Written Word'.And I published Narrator as Witness, a collection of my narrative poems that expanded and replaced Memory and Witness. Also the updated and expanded edition of Trust and Love came out and represented a huge leap upwards from the first edition.I am looking forward to 2019 but have only plans and part written works so far.See me also at https://www.deviantart.com/clangston/gallery where there is lots of pictures to look at and if you want you can buy some stuff.https://www.facebook.com/JohnDHilton/Read more about this authorRead less about this author

Following the manic outpouring that was the book length extravaganza If You Listen Carefully You Can Hear My Blood, Person You Can Love is a collection of poems written over the last two years. It is his finest, most expressive and expansive collection to date.

There are over one hundred and forty poems in here and they span a huge range of moods and situations. There are some love poems and there are a even a few jokes.

The poetry is intelligent but very accessible and covers a vast range of moods and situations. .
