Zhiwei Xu graduated from the Department of International Politics of Peking University in his early years and stayed at the school to teach. He went to the United States in the 1980s and studied in graduate schools at Georgetown University, Johns Hopkins University and the University of Michigan. Zhiwei Xu is diligent in writing and has written and published many poems, scripts, essays, and travel notes over the years.
