Edy Harrington has lived a unique life tapestry of many vibrant hues. She and her large boisterous family lived on a Central Oregon farm and later in a small Northern California town. After graduating from Stanford University with a degree in Physical Therapy, she spent twenty-six years in Geriatric Rehabilitation in various Nursing Homes in Virginia and California. A turning point in the middle of her long life occurred after a most devastating loss – the suicide of her son, Bobby. She discovered that death and dying, grief and healing were paramount in her life and she walked a new path of healing and spiritual growth through the life-changing process of Attitudinal Healing. She is a Facilitator of Attitudinal Healing and a Certified Bereavement Counselor. She developed an avocation in the field of death and dying (thanatology), offering classes in death and dying to nursing assistants and support groups in Attitudinal Healing wherever she lived. She was also a Hospice Home-Care Volunteer for almost forty years (which was ended by the COVID pandemic). Edy served on the Mountains of Courage Steering Committee for ten years to produce an annual conference of “conversations with the living about dying” in Bozeman, Montana. Her work in the field of geriatrics and death and dying led her to explore Spiritual Awareness and Universal Consciousness. As she approaches the end of her life of conscious living/conscious dying, her days are filled with the joy of living and appreciating the natural world around her, the love of life with her family and friends, and the compassion, joy and peace that come with dwelling in each moment with attention and awareness of the Divine Spirit within and around each of us.She now lives in Bozeman, Montana with her son Cal and dog Shadow and loves hiking—in good weather—in the mountains outside Bozeman.Read more about this authorRead less about this author
