What would you like to know about me? Do you want to hear that I used to be a freelance TV director who was always afraid there wouldn't be a next job? That I used to be a newly single mom who went into business out of necessity and had no clients at all, but lots of competitors? And who now, a few years later, has a thriving business and do not work in any school vacations?Or that I was a shy, plain-spoken woman who was afraid of criticism, who gradually took pleasure in presenting, in front of the camera, and who now feels like a fish in water in that spot? That I now give presentations all over the country, helping entrepreneurs and communications professionals take those steps as well?It is all true.As a TV director, I already knew that getting noticed and "getting your head on screen" pays off. But I felt sale behind the scenes.I was 2 eyes on legs. I saw the world, asked questions everywhere and edited for hours, days nights on end. And then I had that baby. That child forced me to get out from behind the scenes, because traveling the world for television shoots is impossible for a single mother. That I couldn't find a job that fit single motherhood drove me to become an entrepreneur. And so: becoming visible myself, claiming my place in the market, sharing my vision for video. As a behind-the-scenes introvert, it took me blood, sweat and tears to work on that visibility. I went ahead - despite the fear of outside judgments - and reluctantly made videos when my child was sleeping. Because: no visibility is also no clients. In the beginning, my videos with useful tips were hardly viewed, if at all. I took all the jobs I could get and worked very hard, on my own. And gradually things changed. The videos started doing their job. I was increasingly seen, as an expert, as a human being, as a video expert. That was then. What is it like now?Today I am recognized everywhere and my videos bring me lots of clients. I no longer have to visit my clients; people get up at the crack of dawn to come to me for training from all over the country. All thanks to the videos (or vlogs) in which I shared knowledge with my target audience. It sounds almost too simple to be trueThat's why people make such a fuss about it. By people who only talk about technology. By companies that only look at quantity of views and want immediate return on investment. That's why the space, the profit, and the success now lies with the people who seek individuality. Who have the courage to learn from everything they do. And to share that with their viewers. That's why my drive to help those very entrepreneurs is great. I know what it's like to keep yourself small and not want to stand out, for fear of losing the support of people around you. And what I now know from experience: you can achieve anything if you go through that trepidation. And that is attainable for everyone.Visit my website and download a free extract of my book: https://topofmindvideomarketing.com/Do you want to know what equipment and gadgets you can use to record great videos?
