Arly Carmack’s passion for writing started with letters. Her father moved away when she was very young, and their communication throughout the years survived through the art of writing letters. From writing letters to the troops in the Gulf War, to finding her first email pen pal on a Prodigy message board in ninth grade, she always enjoyed communicating through written word. As a student, she enjoyed writing episodes of her favorite television shows, and later started a novel. She stopped writing for pleasure while she attended college and majored in business, then started her career.Several years ago, the spark to write was reignited inside of her, and she resumed writing fiction in her free time. It was around that time that she began constructing her first novel, Nineteen, which she self-published in 2019. With many other works in progress, in 2020 she decided to try her hand at writing a short story: Nick Charming’s Guide to Breaking Hearts in Twelve Easy Steps. Later that year she also published a young adult novel, The Pastel Effect. Before the end of 2020, she will publish a sequel to her short story. When she isn’t working her day job or writing, she can usually be found with an old camera somewhere in one of her local parks looking for the inspiration for her next story.
