Inspired by the life and works of Jacques Gaffarel. the novels, titled "The Mystery of Woodville Manor" and "The Secrets of the Cursed Convent," skillfully blend fiction and reality, plunging the reader into an adventure through time, discovering the mysteries of astrology and Kabbalah, esotericism and magic, subjects that fascinated Gaffarel. Fascinated by the ability of this seventeenth-century scholar to reconcile science and occultism, I wanted to pay tribute to this character. My meticulous research work has led me to travel in search of manuscripts and works that belonged to Gaffarel or have a connection with him. My career in the world of bookselling has allowed me to rub shoulders with other enthusiasts, to discuss literary finds and to perfect my knowledge of the field. It was during my years of total immersion in the world of books that I discovered, in the corner of a forgotten bookstore, on a dusty shelf, a book by Jacques Gaffarel. Entitled "Incredible curiosities on the talismanic sculpture of the Persians". This serendipitous discovery turned out to be a real eye-opener for me. The book, with its marginal annotations and enigmatic illustrations, opened a window into a world of mysteries and ancient knowledge.Immersed in the reading of this esoteric text, I was transported into the world of Gaffarel, a scholar who navigated between the boundaries of the known and the unknown. I found elements that echoed my own research and sources of interest. This was the starting point of an obsession that was to guide all my literary work.My quest has led me to explore the most prestigious libraries, to decipher ancient manuscripts, to meet specialists in astrology and the occult. I walked the dark corridors of castles, investigated dusty archives. My research also extended to places steeped in history, legends and mysticism to immerse myself in the character.
