I was inspired to write My Voice because, while growing up, my thoughts and voice were suppressed. Living in the shadows of those who came before me was difficult; their pain, suffering, and anger consumed me! My children living in my pain and anger became a vicious cycle I was a stranger to my true self while fulfilling other people's purposes. Allowing people to whisper in my ear, thinking my voice never to be awakened! Realizing when God created me, I was the only person with my thumbprint. I had to find myself, my purpose, and My Voice! My character was created and groomed, and it shaped my reality. I tapped into my truth, my identity, my character, my purpose, and My Voice. I began to realize the God in me against the world. It is my priority to conform with God and not with society. My journey taught me to consult with God first about all my problems. I dedicate My Voice to my children (from eldest to youngest) Rasheed Qaiyim, Shaheed Qaiyim, Latimah A Qaiyim, and Kareem Qaiyim) who helped shape the best of me!
