Dr. Lisa Diahann Jackson, affectionately known as Dr. Duchess, resides in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Duchess has three sons and one granddaughter. She is a Belizean American who enjoys her home country of Belize, riding her motorcycle, sewing, camping, fishing, reading and writing, raising chickens, and volunteering. She’s always had a passion for writing and chose writing a children’s book as her first publication. More work from her is coming soon.Dr. Lisa Jackson has a military background, an interest in humanitarian services, and a commitment to women, children, and education. At the age of 17, she enlisted in the military. Lisa served 8 years in the US Army in the positions of Administrative Specialist, Telecommunication Operator, and Security Specialist. In the private sector, she worked in information technology. Before retiring, Dr. Jackson served as the Chief Academic Officer at an HBCU, Historically Black Colleges and Universities where she also taught Computer Science. She has worked in higher education for over 12 years.Dr. Jackson holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Health Sciences with a concentration in Health Care Administration, a Master of Science in Public Administration, a Master of Computer Science in Database Administration, and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Management.
