Chris Walker was born in Nottinghamshire in 1949. He decided to write a book during the Covid Pandemic. His first book is about a child growing up in the 1950's till 1970's. The area he lived in was surrounded by coal mines which have now disappeared. He became an engineer and later went into the Photographic industry. He has been a Mansfield Town Football Club since the age of 14 years. Later on, he formed his own football team at youth level ages 9 years to 16 years. After retirement at 55 years, he did part time work until he was 68 years old then he developed a serious illness which is the subject for his second book "Falling off the cliff".
