Naun Lucoer Cerrato’s roots are in Honduras, Central America. Naun moved with his family to the United States—Elkhart, Indiana—in the 1990s. Naun graduated in 2015 from Goshen College, also in northern Indiana, with a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership. In 2019 he graduated from Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (AMBS), Elkhart, with a Master of Arts in Peace Studies with a concentration in International Development Administration.Naun has often worked with families who need help in the community or city, connecting them to nonprofit organizations that provide assistance and support services. It was precisely his passion for serving others that led him to found the migrant-aid organization “LA POSADA IMMIGRANT AID, INC.”He also originated a popular podcast within the Latino community called “Un Momento de Anabautismo” (an Anabaptist moment). Since completing his primary studies, Naun has been drawn to literature. He comments that one of his passions was writing, and then he memorialized his experiences on sheets of paper. It was in high school when he started writing stories. When Naun was in college, he wrote some little stories, including “The Penguin Who Saved Christmas” and “The Librarian,” but he didn’t publish them—until recently. Later he was inspired by how most women work very hard, especially single mothers. And from there “The Magic Book of Isabela” was born. In the book, he tries to address the challenges that single female and male parents face: emotionally, financially, and intellectually.
