Jared E. Davis is a composer, guitarist and teacher. His interests range from a deep respect for J.S. Bach, a passion for early atonality and a nostalgic love of classic rock. His current goal is to expand the palette of contemporary-classical music by integrating it with a multitude of other styles, such as rock, jazz, funk, and fusion. He also draws a wider audience to art music itself, through live new music performances at intimate venues. As a self-taught guitarist, he began performing at age 16 by forming his own band. After finishing his 4 years of service in the US Navy, he was accepted into Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he received his BM in Guitar Performance in 2019. While studying performance, he quickly realized his real passion was for composition and in 2021 received his MM in Music Composition from Texas State University. ​Currently Jared has authored three books "Chromatic Ladders", "Music Theory For Fretboarders","Atonal Improvisation And Jazz", premiered new works with Smart Orchestra, Unheard-of Ensemble, and gives performances and lectures with Kevin Metzger in their duo, the Atonal Guitar Duo.Read more about this authorRead less about this author
