O objetivo é determinar a influência dos factores antropogénicos na degradação florestal da zona. O estudo utilizou dados primários e secundários.
Os dados primários consistiram num conjunto de questionários - apoiados por sessões de entrevistas com os guardas florestais e delegados da equipa de gestão da reserva natural de Ile-Ife. Utilizaram-se também as coordenadas (x, y) das características seleccionadas e da área terrestre, que foram obtidas utilizando um Sistema de Posicionamento Global (GPS) portátil.
As coordenadas das características na área de estudo foram utilizadas para geo-referenciar as imagens multi-data (1986, 1999, 2000 e 2014) da área. .
