Purtroppo, in Togo si sa poco di questa relazione. Lo scopo di questo studio è stato quello di identificare la relazione tra la motivazione al successo scolastico e il rischio di abbandono tra gli studenti dell'ultimo anno.
Sono stati utilizzati questionari adattati alle condizioni togolesi, come il QMF di Gbati e Forner (2005) e il Questionnaire de dépistage des élèves à risque de décrochage di Potvin et al. (2007), su 421 studenti.
I risultati ottenuti dalle analisi della varianza mostrano una differenza significativa tra motivazione al successo scolastico, PSC e rischio di abbandono. Allo stesso modo, è stata riscontrata una differenza significativa tra sesso, età, numero di anni di ripetenza e rischio di abbandono scolastico.
