Set in the mid 1800's in the territory now known as Montana. The story centers around a young man, Michael Patrick Calhan 'Cully' for Short, the Sioux Indians and one Melissa Gabrielle Cristina Crawford, the only child of Judge Elias Crawford and his wife.

The judge and his family came out to this territory to prove it can be civilized and it was our right to make this nation stretch from east to west. The treaty's were made especially after that fateful June day.
