My legal name is Sameen Ateeq but ever since I moved to Canada, I adopted the name 'Sam A' to keep it easy on the tongue. I also realized that Sameen is a male adjective meaning precious in Arabic so I prefer to be called Sameenah because I am female. Ateeq means housing and it has a corresponding form in Arabic, which is Ateeqah. My gender identity has evolved since I was a child and I do find that as an adult it has shaped my views of what I am responsible for in this world. I try to spread good knowledge whenever I can. I work on a creative blogsite called 'The OHM Project' - it is a project where I am trying to amass online recreation tools that are free of cost. I really believe that a good homely environment is key to mental peace - even though I recommend that people limit their time sitting or staring the screen. After all, there are household chores to do and livelihood to earn.I grew up in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I moved to Canada for good when I was 19 years old. I cherish the lovely city of Dubai where I grew up, went to school and got to experience a somewhat luxurious lifestyle of mall shopping and watching sky hugging building architecture. While I am a woman, I completed the "Bachelor" of Science program from University of Waterloo and the "Master" of Science in eHealth program from McMaster University. Both university programs equipped me with knowledge and some time management skills. I used my spare time to explore the city of Waterloo and nearby cities (using the Green Bus) when I could. I love backpacking through towns and villages in Canada. Other than health and wealth, I am also a strong proponent of clean environment. I like to watch movies and cook in my spare time. I also like to spend time with family.In 2021, the pandemic took its toll on my social life and I was brimming with energy to connect with the wider world beyond my neighbors and family.
