And as if that was not enough, in 1883, Joseph Thomson a Scottish explorer wrote through masailand making a sketchy account of his escapades in Maasailand in which he made history for crisscrossing. In 1905, Alfred Claud Hollis was at it again when he wrote The Masai: Their language and focklore.
But in this one, by then chief secretary to the Administration of the East Africa protectorate, it was the introductory part by Eliot which became a stupendous masterpiece. .
