While currently a resident of Pittsburgh, I grew up in Waynesburg, PA, a small town about an hour south of the “big city,” where my father was a mine foreman and my mother, the society editor for the local paper. I am the youngest of their three daughters. I attended Waynesburg College (now Waynesburg University) and worked as a certified financial planner before retiring in 2005 in order to spend more time traveling with my husband, Bryan, whom I married on New Year’s Eve 1993.Although I was brought up in a Christian home, it wasn’t until the summer before ninth grade that I really began to understand what it meant to make Jesus the Lord of my life. In my late twenties I was a youth leader for a group called Challenge. Upon moving to Pittsburgh, I became involved in young adult ministries and women’s studies. I have led numerous retreats and seminars and have spoken most recently on such topics as: The Ten Commandments, The Inner Beauty of a Woman, My Heart Christ’s Home (based on the book by Robert Boyd Munger) and How Does Your Garden Grow. And, for over 20 years I have been an approved speaker for Stonecroft Ministries (aka Christian Women’s Clubs). The goal of this ministry is for Christian women to invite non-Christian women to hear the good news about Christ in a fun and welcoming atmosphere. I hope that each time I share my story of being lost (and then found) it touches those women who also find themselves lost without Christ.My husband and I divide our time between Pittsburgh and the beautiful town of Durango, CO where we ski, golf, go 4-wheeling and hike. While there, I attend the First United Methodist Church of Durango. When in Pittsburgh, I lead a small Bible study called the GIFT Group. (GIFT stands for: Girlfriends In Fellowship Together) and attend Crossroads Church.I have been blessed with three stepsons, three daughters-in-law and seven wonderful grandchildren. On New Year's Eve 2018 we all celebrated my and my husband's 25th wedding anniversary on the Disney Dream and had a root-tooting good time!Check out my video on Youtube.
