Despite first putting pen to paper in 1990, it took another thirteen years, and a police drama, before I was truly motivated to trust my instincts and give writing a proper go. I’m hoping one day to finish those first rough drafts! Already an avid reader, thanks to my Dad’s constant encouragement, my favorite genre is historical romance, especially anything related to the American Civil War, ancient Rome and the Regency era. Married to a police officer for twenty years, I am also a sucker for romances involving first responders. Other than reading, and writing, I love to travel, with Italy at the top of my list of places to visit. My love affair with this most ancient of countries began in 2011 when, after the passing of my mother-in-law, I was offered her airline ticket, and journeyed to Italy with members of my husband’s family. Discovering Rome and Pompeii, sparked a fascination that has seen me return several times, and inspired at least two of my books.When not traveling, reading, or writing I spend time with my husband and our two miniature dachshunds, Bailey and Stuie (a celebrity in his own right, but that’s a whole other story!), enjoying the beach, and catching up with friends in the car club we’re members of.
