Scott Thompson was born in Newnan, Georgia. His family moved almost every year, but still remained in the South where he experienced the intelligent and eccentric people of the region who stoked his imagination and provided him with a lifetime of stories to tell. His writings can be read in regional magazines like Georgia Backroads, Southern Writers Magazine, and anthologies. He is the winner of the Great American Novel contest in literature for 2010, and was nominated for Georgia Author of the Year, first novel.His second published novel, Eight Days is a story of life, family, and purpose that follows Clive Kinsella, a man who dies, but before he can continue to Heaven, he must face his life's greatest regrets and fears. If he doesn't successfully navigate this reckoning he'll be trapped in the in-between as a ghost. Thompson’s latest works are a series of Westerns that take place in frontier Colorado. In The Confederate, we follow a disillusioned Confederate veteran who leaves his home in Georgia to find answers in the American West. Book two: The Coloradan, takes place several years after the American Civil War, former Confederate officer Robert Ambrose is still seeking peace. He has a home and a family, and is learning to enjoy life on a ranch in the Colorado Territory. All of that changes when rustlers murder someone close to him, leaving him with difficult decisions. Will he find the will to kill again to protect those he loves, and to bring justice to the struggling West?
