JUDITH LAMB (Author)
Judith Lamb, an independent writer, and publisher. Her first fictional book, Living in the Unknown; Caribbean Way, was published in April 2023. Judith received five-star reviews and brilliant feedback from those who purchased her first book. Her fictional book Living in the Unknown, Caribbean Way explored the life of the Windrush Generation who arrived in Britain from the island of Saint Vincent. Her mother and father who were born in Saint Vincent had arrived in England during the early sixties. Judith captured some of the stories in her book told by her parent’s experiences when they first arrived in Britain and she reinstated some of those stories in her book into a fictional context. Due to the reviews, she received in book one, her readers have asked her to draft a further novel. Hence, why book two, Living in the Memory is a continued story to book one. Recapturing events from her first book, Judith continues to write about the life of the younger generation. Still focusing on their lives, trying to cope with the struggles living in Britain, and she continues to highlight the many night clubs formed during the 1970’s-90’s. Her book writes about the raving scene which was a way of escape and enjoyment for many.. Although a fictional story…this book has been inspired by true events and is not coincidental or intentional towards factual events.Judith was born in Luton where she grew up before leaving to live in London in 1984, where she lives until today. She was once a hairdresser, until she changed her career towards helping others in care and mental health. She started studying Psychology at the University of East London in 2004. Whereby, she graduated with a Batchelor of Science degree 2008. Still continuing with her love of caring for people, she continued her career working in the mental health field, until she retired in 2017 on medical grounds. She has a passionate love for all types of music, especially Lovers Rock and her favourite lovers rock artist are Janet Kay and Kofi, amongst many other reggae artist’s. Her love for soul music is another genre. Those who know Judith, can relate to her holding regular spectacular house parties back in the days. Both her books are inspired by past events and spectacular parties she had organised back in the 1980’s to the year 2000.Judith’s main hobbies are gardening and making cakes. She is also, a keen decorator and loves to knit and make garments. Lastly, her favourite holiday of all time, is Saint Vincent where both her parents were born. She first visited the island in 1971 and from that day she fell in love with her parents homeland. In her book she captures many locations of the island and has dedicated her story in the remembrance of her parents.Read more about this authorRead less about this author

This book was written based on the British Caribbean life in Great Britain and is a continued version of the author's first novel, Living in the Unknown, Caribbean Way. Although the outcomes in this book are fictional, the narrative is inspired by true events.

The first novel reflected the life of Esther who came to England in 1956. Later on, she sent for her daughter, Margaret to join her.

In this book… Margaret and Esther’s lives continue in book two. When Margaret lost her husband Anthony in book one, to bring up her two boys on her own.

The story continues. .

. How does Margaret continue to cope with life without him and does she finally find happiness? In addition, Book Two navigates towards the British-born and the Windrush Generation, who grew up in Britain from the 1960s to the end of the 1990s.

Reflect upon their social experiences, trying to find a purpose in life and social expectations. During the 1970’s, and the eighties, The Diamond Ladies, ' lives took on a change and they became more prominent in life, with new careers, new partners, and more dilemmas.

However, do they say goodbye to the raving scene?Historically, the early years saw a change towards discrimination through the activist movement. Behind the background of the elders during their time of equal rights.

Clubbing and having house parties was a way of escape, not just from discrimination, working hard during the week helped the pressures of life to bring some solemn grace. Esther, Carmel, and Richards take on a more positive role, helping the community fight against discrimination.

More epic scenes of police brutality continue and the fight for justice will prevail. .
