Regina Stone Matthews was born in Columbia, South Carolina. She attended Therrell High School in Atlanta, Georgia, and West Georgia College in Carrollton, Georgia. Currently, Regina resides in Richardson, Texas with her husband, David. She has three daughters and six grandchildren. Like Elizabeth in her "When I Dream" series of books, Regina grew up an only child. She has always had a very vivid imagination, which ultimately led to her love for writing and telling stories.Since the beginning of Elizabeth and the "When I Dream" series of books, Regina has also authored four non-fiction short story books, co-authored a book with her granddaughter, Haylie, and co-authored an anthology book. Additionally, Regina has written six other children's books.
