Author Name
Patricia Emrie Hilton (Author)
Patricia Mae Emrie was born in Springfield, Missouri on July 8, 1950. The youngest of three children, two sons and a daughter. She grew up wanting to be a nurse but changed her mind after her first child was born. She always had a passion for caregiving and where better to do that than for your own children and grandchildren. A lifelong stay at home mom was considered a privilege to her that so few mothers were fortunate enough to enjoy. Her and her husband lived on a quaint little farm not far from town where there was a host of pets and barnyard animals. Horses, cows, rabbits, cats, kittens, chickens and roosters, dogs and even a half dozen emu. A lifestyle that many only dream of raising their children in.Patricia loved donating her time and talents to anyone that needed help. She loved being a home room mother and Sunday school teacher for her five children. She has a very creative imagination that is on full display in this delightful children’s book. She waited many years to pursue her dream of being an author. Most of her writing was accomplished while she watched her two young grandsons playing together at a mysterious “weeping willow tree” near a creek’s edge, as referenced in this book. She dedicates this book to her parents Vera and Harlo Emrie who provided the very best childhood ever!Read more about this authorRead less about this author

Patricia Emrie Hilton dedicated her life's work to raising her five children. She always put her family first while putting this book on her list of rainy day dreams.

You will find a very clever and creative approach to her story telling in this delightful children's book about Patty Mae and her imaginary friend, a doll named Poor Pitiful Pearl. During the mid 1950's Patty Mae was a small little girl with big ideas.

Most days she would go downtown on her bicycle. Her pup Lazy was behind her willing to go wherever, whenever she wanted.

They went to see her momma and daddy who worked downtown. They watched the people there live their lives.

They would go to movies, parks, shops, cafes and soda fountains. The pup, Lazy, always waited patiently, never moving far from her bicycle.

For her birthday she adopted a doll named Poor Pitiful Pearl. The three of them went everywhere together.

The places in this book are real. The characters are her family.

The most important place Pearl went with her was her imagination. .
