I was born in Russellville KY in 1965, and attended Sharon Grove Elementary School, which had 8 grades and 4 classrooms. There were about ten kids in each grade. After graduating from Todd County Central High in 1984, I joined the US Army as a Military Police Officer. He served in Europe and then at the MP School in Ft. McClellan AL as an instructor at the Military Police School. In 1988, I transferred from active duty to the Army Reserves as a Tank Commander on the M-60a3 series tanks. While in the reserves, I obtained an associate degree in criminology. After transferring to Eastern Kentucky University I graduated in 1992 with a BS degree in Criminology. In 2002, at a friend’s urging, he went on to work as a correctional officer with the Kentucky Dept. of Corrections, and eventually with the KY Dept. of Probation and Parole. Now retired, he says, he’s a bum. I have been married to his wife Angela Sears for 33 years and have raised two wonderful childrenI volunteer for 4-H and other youth programs. Currently, I run the Todd County Library, Adventure Book Club, where I have 25 boys and girls I am turning on to adventure books and I take them into the wilderness for adventure training.
