Joseph Kinnebrew has been a professional painter and sculptor for over 55 years. For years as an internationally recognized artist he wrote many artist statements. Often longer than usual his efforts were intended to reach viewers with new insights and provocative ideas.For many years Kinnebrew did large scale commissioned sculptures and in the 70's was one of the most highly granted American artists by the National Endowment for the Arts in Washington DC. He has won many prestigious awards for his work and was the first recipient of the Michigan State Governors Arts Award in sculpture.Kinnebrew is more than just an artist, his unusual and highly acclaimed talents have been the subject of intense discussion and investigation. In 2014 he was a rare human subject in one of the most significant studies into "Extreme Creative Genius" at the University of Iowa. He holds many patents and has done work in areas of theoretical mathematics, biology and consulted with numerous architectural design firms. His works have been collected by many of the countries most prestigious fine art museums and libraries.Today Kinnebrew lives and works on a remote stretch of Pacific Ocean beach in Washington State. He mentors people and now only occasionally lectures. He is the author of several books of fiction and non-fiction as well as white papers on various subjects.
