I never envisioned myself as an author, even though I earned a degree in History and had gained some writing experience along the way. I have written a few poems over the years but never a full length book. But, later circumstances in life opened my eyes to becoming an author. After graduating from high school, I received a scholarship to play baseball at Mississippi College. After my sophomore year there, I decided to transfer to Mississippi State University where I also played baseball. I was a team member of the 1989 SEC regular season championship team there. I was a pitcher for the Bulldogs. I then graduated MSU with honors and would later serve at my alma mater as an award-winning Academic Advisor-Coordinator to undeclared and pre-engineering students. In 2013, I was named Staff Advisor of the Year and received a NACADA (National Academic Advising Association) Certificate of Merit for outstanding advising. My daughter, Lindsi, passed away in 2012 from brain cancer. She was only 9 years old. She was an incredible child who left an amazing legacy of faith and love. I began writing about her life 10 years ago and with God's calling and His guidance, my very first book was published. During the course of my manuscript writing, I also lost my wife, Wanda. We had almost reached our 25th wedding anniversary. I still have my two sons, Logan and Larson, who I am both very proud. Our family has endured much heartache but through all of the grief and pain, we stand strong as God has blessed our family immensely and He has brought us through our sorrows each time.
