Rosemary Hamer comes from Aberystwyth Wales, has travelled extensively, lived in Australia, followed three different career paths, run her own business, and now retired lives on the Wirral. From age 4 or 5 Rosemary planned to be a writer but life got in the way. However after the death of her mother, she wrote her first novel 'The Christmas House' published in 2015 as an e book (available also as a paperback) - a dramatized, fictionalised account of her mother's early life from her childhood in Wales in the 1920s through to the 1950s.'The Shadow Shaper' her second novel was published in Spring 2018 (e book and paperback). This novel has undertones of espionage, mystery and secrets. Twenty year old Eleanor gets drawn into the murky world of spying. Dangerous missions take her from London to a remote corner of Scotland to war torn Central America. Her third novel, 'Portrait of a Death' Autumn 2019 (e book and paperback), is a story about the painting of a woman that passes through the hands of four different sets of characters from 1940s Paris, 1980s/90s London to New York in 2000s. Throughout its journey its forceful, magnetic and sometimes evil presence impacts each of the character's lives. Her fourth novel, published May 2021, is 'Kenshō...House of Secrets' (e book and paperback). This is a novel about secrets, both family and house secrets. Some exist in the past, others in the present. Kenshō House with its ghostly history is the catalyst. Mika, a student, travels from her grandfather's home in Wajima, Japan to Oxford, England to live in Kenshō House with Professor Blenkinsop and his family for a year. As they live out their everyday lives they have to come to terms with their actions and their destinies.Rosemary has just published her fifth novel June 2024, 'Life, Love, Death' (e book and paperback). Three disparate people meet accidentally in a New York diner in 1953 and continue to meet for lunch every Tuesday for a year. They are an incongruous trio: an old musician, a middle-aged sales lady, and a young girl training to be a journalist at the Herald Tribune. Their lives, loves, and even death crisscross against the background of the times in America until they ultimately become friends.Read more about this authorRead less about this author

Three disparate people are brought together in Leo's, a New York diner, in the summer of 1953 and continue to meet for lunch every Tuesday for a year. They are an incongruous trio: an elderly busking musician, a middle aged lady who works at Ohrbach's department store, and a young girl, new to the city, a trainee reporter at the New York Herald Tribune.

Their lives, loves and even death criss-cross against the background of the culture and politics of 1950's America until they ultimately become friends. 'There they all sat that Tuesday lunchtime, the old musician, the Southern lady and the girl of course.

Joel comforted himself that it would soon be over. They would never meet again.

Life was like that. Passing strangers who stopped for a moment, stepped out of their lives to exchange stories, and moved on without a backward glance.

Joel relished the thought. '.
