I currently live in Augusta County, Virginia with my wonderful husband of 25 years, Stephen and our precious Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Levi.I was born in 1969. I grew up in Augusta County on Calf Mountain Road. It was a child's paradise. We weren't wealthy, but I sure thought we were. Our house was situated between two glorious mountains and we were surrounded by family for miles and miles. It was like God had a special blessing over our little home place. The sweetest perfume from the mountains filled the air and the night sky was always lit with twinkling stars.At night a choir of crickets, whip-poor-wills, and frogs (called knee deepers by the ole timers) sang to us our very own lullaby. Maybe that was God's way of trying to get us to go to bed, because I don't remember ever having a bedtime. We would play into the early morning hours.Horseback riding, swimming, sleigh riding, and going to church made up a lot of my childhood. There was always family outside on a porch playing a guitar and singing those old-time hymns, like I'll Fly Away, When the Roll is Called up Yonder, Life is Like a Mountain Railway, and of course Amazing Grace.It is my hope that combining a childhood like mine with my passion for writing, and with God's guiding hand, will make a perfect recipe for writing Christian children's books.Regina J.
