She left her hometown of Warrenton, NC to attend the NC School of Science and Mathematics in Durham, NC and continued her studies at NC Agricultural and Technical State University and the University of NC at Greensboro. Dorie began teaching middle school math in 2001 and is also an experienced instructional coach and curriculum director. Throughout her career Dorie has shared her passion for mathematics and all things formative assessment in her roles as an assessment coordinator, professional development specialist and assistant principal.
