Bitten by the passion for automobiles, Alexandru Dobai abandoned his engineering profession to discover - little by little - the world of cars. He started "at the bottom," by sticking pictures of cars on the FRAM refrigerator. He has known difficulties from a young age, as his mother forbade him from extending his decorative passion to the walls of the house. After deciphering the secrets of reading, he devoured everything written about automobiles until the librarian told him there was nothing more to offer him. Willingly (even though it wasn't allowed), and out of necessity, at the age of 13, he began writing to car companies around the world to satisfy his need for information. Thus began a new period with many difficulties... for the postman. Not for him, who could - finally - read and discover the refined world of automobiles. He made friends and embarked on a great adventure.The roles of official, organizer, and journalist helped him to know and understand the mechanisms that govern this world. Inevitably, the moment came when the reader turned into a storyteller. This is how AutoSport, Motorscope Rally, and Motorscope F1 were born - the first Romanian motorsport yearbooks - appearing well ahead of their time. Even under these conditions, aware of the importance of car culture in a country deprived of information for a few decades, Alex continued and published the first brand histories for Skoda, BMW, Mini, and Volvo. But his involvement went even further, as Alex made a name for himself as the press attaché of the Romania Rally (a round in the European Rally Championship) and as a Formula 1 commentator on Romanian Television and Dolce Sport.Being competitive by nature, Alex is a player.
