He is a retired USAF officer, serving as a navigator and then as an fighter and instructor pilot in the B-1B, F-15C, T-37B, and T-6A, with over 3,000 flight hours and two combat tours.His eclectic careers between the military and the pastorate included law enforcement and the airlines. He continues to serve as a part-time police officer and chaplain and is a board member for North Country Christian Formation.Pat and his wife Martha are blessed to serve in a congregation where discipleship is practiced as the essential core of the Church’s mission. This is the journey to which Jesus calls sufferers, a journey He calls us to walk with Him and with others He brings alongside. I hope this book will assist those who seek to walk this journey by helping them understand and embrace the relationship between suffering, discipleship, and lament.
