And if you also dream, never stop hoping. And if you also live, never stop progressing.People are made of dreams, they are made of stories, of so many stories. Some are known to their loved ones, but most remain hidden in the secret of their hearts. Sometimes, we find ourselves in the pages of a book, as if a person born elsewhere, who lived elsewhere, shares our intimacy here and now.My homeland has always been books, the greatest, the one without borders or color! Books taught me letters, they instructed and inspired me. Here I am, taming the world of words, dreaming of living a thousand and one lives within the confines of 26 letters of the alphabet! My name is Aliane UMUTONIWASE. The randomness and fortune of life have offered me two destinies: that of a war child born in the land of a thousand hills, embracing the horror and resilience that the unspeakable made me know. Rwanda gave me everything I needed to grow. Another destiny was written far from my own and my small native country, in the vast and grand country that is France. France gave me everything I needed to flourish. It is here that I mastered this beautiful language called French, it is here that I learned to travel and to dream bigger than what life before had allowed me to hope for.I loved words before writing, and I love writing before loving science. I then studied sciences: a year as a midwife, in the theater of the beginnings of life, other lives than mine. Then a bachelor's degree in life sciences, followed by a master's in biochemistry and applied cell biology, where I learned the tiny particles that make us up, those that together make us beings. Later, I embraced the world of clinical trials as a clinical research associate. Here, I tamed the good side of human ailments, a world where we can help humanity to feel better. This life journey has never made me forget my first passion, words. Words have been my allies to communicate, to express what I had trouble saying. Words allowed me to exorcise misfortune, to ward off absence, and to conjugate my life in the plural.Being naturally dreamy and sometimes very slow, I come to reveal myself almost timidly in my first collection: LIFE IN SWEETNESS AND PAIN. Life in what it has of beauty and tragedy. Will I find an audience? I have always been one of those who say "why not"! I wish you life, travel, and I propose to be your companion on this journey.AlianeRead more about this authorRead less about this author
