Enrique Arenz was born in the city of Mar del Plata, Argentina, on August 12, 1942.He has published fourteen books, two of which are essays: "Freedom: A System of Moving Borders" (1986) and "The Error of the Intellectuals" (2004); six novels: "The Mandrakes Have Given a Smell" (1999), "Marplateros" (2009), "The Enigma of the Hyspania Hotel" (police novel, 2018), "Mr. Murga's Folder" (police novel, 2020), and "Albatros Organization" (police novel, 2020), the latter two only available in digital edition; and "The Lust of Angels (2024); and six books of short stories: "The Pensioner and Other Abnormal Stories" (2000), "Christmas Stories" (2001), "Don't Trust Your Library" (2006), "Stories from the Holy Land" (2011), "Magical Christmas, 24 Stories to Read in December" (2012); "Tales of the Dark" (2017) and Selected Stories (2024) The three detective novels mentioned above make up a single volume in digital version entitled: "To kill, you need a good plan (Facundo Lorences Trilogy)" (2021).As an opinion journalist, he collaborated for eleven consecutive years with the Buenos Aires newspaper La Prensa (between 1984 and 1995).
