Secondo episodio della collana: Le avventure di un detective di corna. Questa volta Pietro Fancelli, investigatore privato specializzato in adulteri, si ritrova su una vecchia nave riadattata a bisca per seguire un sottosegretario del Ministero dell’Interno che il fratello magistrato vuole incastrare a causa di un presunto traffico d’importanti opere d’arte.

Considerata la pericolosità dell’incarico (la bisca appartiene alla ndrangheta) il procuratore ha affiancato al fratello un fedele collaboratore del magistrato: Pasquale D’Annunzio, carabiniere scelto. Un guasto procurerà un’avaria alla nave così importante da renderla un relitto in balia del mare e del vento.

Abbandonata dall’equipaggio si arenerà qualche giorno dopo nella piccola baia di un'isola lontana da tutte le rotte conosciute. Da qui si susseguiranno avvenimenti, circostanze e situazioni che trasformeranno i giocatori in naufraghi a loro volta, cambiando per sempre le vite di alcuni di loro.
