Her most remarkable achievement came in her 60s when she completed her PhD at Rajshahi University, fulfilling a lifelong dream.Samina's impact on the field of history extends beyond her academic achievements. She played a crucial role in establishing the History Department at Jagannath University in Old Dhaka, Bangladesh, which was nonexistent before her efforts. Today, the department has expanded to offer advanced degrees, which is a testament to her pioneering spirit and dedication.Despite her professional accomplishments, Samina derives her greatest joy from being a loving mother to her three children and a devoted wife to Dr Ainun Nishat, with whom she has shared 53 years of marriage.
