Even as a young girl, I always loved reading books. I never thought it possible that I would one day write one myself. During my work as a dentist, I came into contact with many children and their parents early on. Working with them inspired me and gave me new ideas. I developed the desire to do something completely different alongside my job and to try out my narrative and creative talent. So, I started to write light and humorous stories for children, to give something back for the trust they had placed in me. Over time, new fantastic concepts were added and I thought about how I could bring them all together. SMILE&BOOKS is a heart project that emerged from this. It stands for entertaining books with heart and humour, as well as creative colouring books for ABC children with a focus on playful reading practice and for children plus family with non-fiction books on the topics of braces and teeth. Together with my husband Detlef, we work on funny and understandable layouts for our books and want them to become a valuable treasure on the bookshelf of every child in the world.
