Sean Siverly began his journey into writing while he was in high school. His first works were short stories based on war, music and fictional bands as well as an attempt at a romantic novel---a strange and broad spectrum of subject matter for sure. In 1987, while attending Ferris State College in Michigan as a commercial art student, Sean was asked by his English and Composition professor to submit a short story for a campus-wide competition. He did, and even though the story was not selected by the competition committee, it did give Sean a fresh perspective on his writing. While in the Air Force and stationed in Okinawa, Sean took an old war story from high school and began re-writing it to novel length. At this same time, he started a new horror novel called 'Overpass.' Neither work was completed, but their long-hand drafts still remain to this day.After his discharge from the Air Force, Sean pursued fine arts, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from Kendall College of Art & Design in 2002. Even though his focus was mainly on the visual arts, writing was never far from his mind, as he continued to write short stories and essays.In 2015, Sean decided to take up writing again as a full-time venture. Since 2015, he has written several short stories, novellas as well as a couple of novel-length works based on a variety of subject matter.In late 2018, Sean published his first novel: 'Excursions With the Chief.' Since then, he has published the novels: 'Old 27,' 'Flat Out', the sequel to 'Old 27': 'Down 127', and the prequel to 'Excursions With the Chief': 'Just Me, A Beach, and A Bar (Memoir of One Man's Travels).'
