Molliann Baaker, Ph. D.

, a trained paleobiologist, has been collecting, preserving, and processing prehistoric fossils in Canada’s Dinosaur Provincial Wilderness near Drumheller. She has peculiar ideas beyond collecting primordial bones.

Following a stint as a high school student interned at an archeology museum, she is wont to quote George Bernard Shaw: “You see things as they are and ask, ‘Why?’ I dream things as they never were and ask, ‘Why not?’” This mantra reverberates throughout her life and propels her career. Never one to discover prehistoric fossils merely for future public display in an assortment of museums, her lifelong objective has remained firm.

Mollie searches for the inherent medical miracle hidden somewhere in newly discovered fossilizations and what they might reveal. She submits trace samples of primeval fossilized bones to Nanoviogen Research located in Fort Sauganash near Portobell, a town on the shore of the Great Lakes.

As a biomedical lab, Nanoviogen specializes in nanotechnology and biomedical research where specialized lab technicians analyze these ossified samples for pharmaceutical attributes. Summoned under contract to a Portobell research center for her expertise and training, she accepts the assignment clueless about her future responsibilities and duties.

A near death confrontation on the Great Lakes resurrects a dream transformed before her eyes into a nightmare which she barely escapes. In a brilliant move perhaps psychotic but consistent with her honed training to collect and preserve archaic treasures, Mollie learns that she has unleashed events that have potential worldwide benefits for all humanity and may fulfill her professional, personal and psychological lifetime goals.
