I have been lucky enough to pursue my life in a wide variety of communities such as Texas, Zimbabwe, Dubai, Manilla and Sevilla. What I caught on to was that there appears to be one constant in all of them -" people are people". All have stories to tell. As they tell those stories. I perceive them and "pursue" my reception based on my own definitions. As such, it is just as possible that great harm can be found in my re-telling of a tale or great beneficial truth. In some instances, both can happen at the same time. With that in mind, I like to take great pains to ensure that I am not trying to speak for God or mankind when I insert my perspectives. That is all that the production of stories are really, "perspectives". At any rate, my intent in story telling is to condense my realities into a close copy of the lyrics of a favorite song. "There were no good guys, there were no bad guys, there were just a lot of folks that sometimes disagreed". We all "pursue" life in our own ways. Sometimes with all the gawky grace of a newborn fawn, while during other periods we do so with the power of a lion in the chase. My pace, when I am most intrigued, is that of a grateful man who is so lucky to have been afforded the awkward serendipity that God's grace leaves. My hope is to be left speechless enough to let my pen prepare some pretty good words. As luck would have it, much of what you will find from me on Amazon is from that batch. So, to sum all of this up, I am the type of man that writes the books that need writing. Nothing more, nothing less. I try to stick to the Reiki offerings for mankind while doing so. 1. Just for today, I do not worry. The weight of tomorrow need not burden our present.2. Just for today, I do not anger. Let compassion guide our interactions.3. Just for today, I work to the best of my ability. Excellence is found in effort.4. Just for today, I am grateful. Gratitude transforms ordinary moments into extraordinary ones.5. And finally, just for today, I will be kind to others. Kindness ripples through time, touching both past and future. My hope is that those days last for a lifetime.Wardell Gillespie Read more about this authorRead less about this author

In the ever expanding panorama of American history, there exists a pivotal moment—a moment when the collective voices of countless individuals rose up in unison to challenge the chains of bondage and demand justice for all. This moment culminated in the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation—an act of courage and conviction that forever altered the course of the nation and paved the way for the abolition of slavery.

Yet, the road to emancipation was not a solitary path, but rather a collective journey shaped by the contributions of individuals from all walks of life—abolitionists, politicians, activists, and ordinary citizens alike. In this book, we embark on a journey to explore the diverse array of voices and perspectives that played a crucial role in the journey towards freedom, from the fearless leadership of Harriet Tubman and the political acumen of Abraham Lincoln to the enduring significance of Juneteenth as a celebration of liberation for all Americans.

the story of emancipation does not end with the signing of a proclamation or the stroke of a pen. It extends far beyond the halls of power to the hearts and minds of everyday Americans, whose resilience and determination helped to bring about the end of slavery and the dawn of a new era of freedom.

Nowhere is this more evident than in the celebration of Juneteenth—a day that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved individuals in Texas and serves as a reminder of the enduring struggle for liberation. Originally observed by African Americans in Texas, Juneteenth has since become a symbol of freedom for all Americans, representing the triumph of hope over despair and the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity.

So we invite Americans of every ilk to come and share in the joy if the day. Through your ancestors, you have earned it.
