Kwabena Eddie Mankata is a civil engineer turned published author and an award-winning filmmaker who believes in the power of films and books in inspiring a generation, shaping cultures, and providing deep insights into building relevant structures of society. For the past decade, he has channeled his energies into writing eight books and countless poems and articles. Kwabena has written, produced, and directed fifteen Christian stage plays, twelve short films addressing social issues, and a feature film on father-son relationships. He has facilitated film workshops across Ghana sharing knowledge in writing and directing fiction with over four hundred upcoming filmmakers. He heads The Mankata Studios, a theatre, literature, and film company. He volunteers as a program director for READERS TRUSS, an NGO his wife runs to promote reading culture. He is also the co-founder of Mirror Africa, an NGO seeking to bring girls' new perspectives to life.Kwabena is an adventurous traveler, an avid reader and loves swimming. He is married to the ever-gorgeous book addict, Dorcas Fafali Mankata and they have a son, SDM. Kwabena fellowships with Pentecost International Worship Centre in Sakumono where he serves as a Deacon and a teens’ teacher.
